Braathe Speaks to Upstate Professional Women about Time Management, Team Management and Temerity
Robert Braathe did a talk about getting started in business and managing time, team and temerity at the Upstate Professional Women group in Latham New York.
During this interactive Q+A, Robert discussed the importance of managing your priorities under 4 categories – Do, Delegate, Date and Dismiss, as well as how to do a weekly 6 day schedule with plans for the following three weeks written out for regular viewing.
Under delegation, he spoke of the importance of delegating interesting work to other people so they feel engaged and involved.
On teams, he discussed finding the right partners, and knowing how to spot the wrong ones.
On temerity, he talked about having the courage of your own greatness, as well as the courage to speak and speak freely, especially around things you are disappointed in. He mentioned the book “Principles” by Ray Dalio as a great resource for knowing how to handle business and personal interactions and relationships.
During the Q+A session, he talked about his succession plans, which include already naming his 2 year old niece Sarah his successor in “40 or 50 years”, as well as words that should be considered swear words – confused, frustrated and busy.
